STATIC PROTECTION

Static sensitive devices(SSDs) such as semi-conductors or circuit boards are vulnerable to damage from Electro Static Discharge (ESD) generated either via human contact or nearby moving parts. This can occur at any point from manufacture to field use. Damage from handling or generally where ESD has not been controlled can be very costly or even hazardous. Since SSDs are susceptible to corrosion, any protection used must also be non-corrosive.

VITEC offers a number of ESD control products:

Conductive Polyurethane Foams. Soft or rigid with a volume resistance of <250 ohms used for packaging where the products are enveloped or pinned into the foam. GAUSSTAT RANGE.

Anti-static Foams (polyurethane or closed cell polyethylene). For less vulnerable components. STATEASE RANGE .

Workstations. Conductive or dissipative durable matting for floors or benches which can be supplied as rolls or cut to shapes with stud holes. TRIOHMIC and TESLATEC RANGE .
