Vitec Composites is part of the U.K. Industrial Foam Group which, in turn, is part of the British Vita Group, a global company with 110 manufacturing units in 22 countries, employing 9,000 personnel. British Vita's core businesses manufacture polyurethane foams, plastics and non-wovens.

The Industrial Foam Group comprises Kay-Metzeler, Caligen Foam and Rossendale combining. It has 3 polyurethane foam (PU) lines, a moulded urethane unit, a reconstituted foam plant and an expanded polystyrene business, in the addition to 4 conversion units [Vitec, Custom Foams, Caligen Industrial and KM Ashton] which produce a wide range of mainly PU based converted products which are used across many of the markets in both the UK and Europe.

VITEC’s core process is the post treatment of foams or fibres to impart additional properties such as heightened flame retardancy, conductivity, or hydrophilicity, whilst retaining their innate properties such as resilience or porosity.

VITEC’s efficient impregnation facilities produce an array of interesting products. To develop the products further there is also the ability to laminate (dry or wet) and apply surface coatings. Shaping of the final product is produced either by conventional tooling or by more flexible water-jet cutting.
